When it looks like Plummer is out to cause some big trouble, Marshal Dillon investigates and takes charge, not only to keep Blocker, who was suspicious of Plummer's intentions concerning his fiance Tilda from the beginning, from doing something foolish, as it's also up to him to sort out the whole situtation concerning who actually killed the friend of Plummer's: Plummer, or Blocker? And with evidence seemingly pointing to Blocker, Marshal Dillon has no other apparent option but to arrest Blocker for the murder. Plummer, in a scheme to get Blocker hung, kills his own friend making it appear as if Blocker is the killer.
Unlike others like the cowhand, Joe Plummer (Grant Williams), that feels like Tilda should be his rather than married to the normally mild-mannered Blocker, who has been acting like a real "bear" lately, especially towards Plummer. The young Tilda has been in the west for a short time but has finally found a man in Blocker that is nice toward her. Good-Natured Mike Blocker (Denver Pyle) is set to marry a young beautiful girl, Tilda (Norma Crane).

Halligan pushes Dave and he falls and hits his head on a wagonwheel. While Festus is releasing the trappers Dave Carson, while working for Moss Grimmick, gets into an argument with local resident Halligan over a broken bridal. The first episode aired in the United States on September 10, 1955.

Claudius convinces Festus to let them out of jail with the promise to get their horses and immediately leave Dodge.
